SOTU 2024 Season Predictions: W/L record

Dottavio: 10-2 and honestly with FSU looking kind of meh it should be 11-1. Marshall Thomas: 10-2.Smith: I've got Miami at 9-3. I want to go with better, as I think they have a playoff-caliber roster and schedule to get there. However, I simply don't trust the coaching, starting at the top. I'm not going to set myself up for the Lucy-with-the-football treatment until I actually see better. Go prove me wrong. Please. KappaCane: 15-0 is the only right answer, right? Lol... no-one on the schedule should beat us, but I fear we may (MAY) beat ourselves along the way somewhere. This team is saying, and showing, all the right things about going 1-0 each week and if they can string enough of those weeks together, I could realistically see them sitting at 10-2 or 11-1 going into the ACCCG for a rematch against FSU or another conference team. That should produce a CFP berth and an outside run for a ring, but more importantly it sets the wheels in motion for another top recruiting class. Go Canes!Schiffman: After being right with my 7-5 prediction last season (along with several other guys here), https://www.hurricanesgameday.com  I am throwing my cynicism out the window for 2024. It all has to come together for Miami at some point, right? Right?! I think this is that year for the Canes. Miami goes 11-1, wins the ACC, and gets the #3 seed in the CFP. Marcus: 11-1. Miami has an easy schedule. We've said this before but the stage is set for a big season with this roster, especially on offense. Cristobal needs to make the magic happen on the field during the season and keep the team disciplined from start-to-finish. If not, his job is in jeopardy.Weaver: I'll say 9-3. There's going to be at least one statement win (I hope Florida, even more so than FSU) and at least one bizarre loss (I fear a west coast trip to Cal, who beat Ward's Wazzu team at Berkeley). This is an improved team with a realistic, injury-riddled floor of 7 wins. While the team technically has the talent to win every game on its schedule, this team also still has a lot of underclassman and transfers playing key roles across the depth chart. 9 wins would be an improvement over last season and continue Miami's upward trajectory. Would 9 wins satisfy most Canes fans? No. Would it satisfy me? Barely, so long that it's paired with another top 10 recruiting class this offseason. Going from 5 to 7 to 9 wins, coupled with a third straight top 10 recruiting class next offseason, shows a program steadily returning to prominence. There you have it. Our record predictions for the Canes' 2024 season.
